Have not noticed that, but I do not pay close attention to it.

I haven't paid that much attention to that. Will check it out next time.

My 3 1/2" inch Rineharts sound better after the engine warms up. I've noticed that for a while.

Seems they sound deeper.

One thing I noticed about the Street Cannons and I ain't alone on this one, I loved the sound with the stock Cat exhaust but when I swapped out a stock pipe without the cat the mufflers sounded like crap. I've talked to other since then that had the same issue

I'm running the Street Cannons with a decatted stock head pipe and my SGS sounds great.

I actually like the sound(s) (and the volume) that my otherwise 100% stock Ultra Limited makes with the Street Cannon Mufflers. I get a bit of decel popping in the exhaust until the engine and the catalyst are at full operating temperature. I believe that this is probably due to the catalyst reaching operating temperature before the engine is completely off it's warm-up enrichment programing. Noticeable but not objectionable to me. This is the first Harley I have ever owned where I may actually leave the engine and even the catalyst just as they are.

For those that find SC's to have a less than pleasing sound (not volume) there are two methods of correcting this issue in this thread - I have a feeling that the latter of the two could be achieved using the new short end caps.

Sound of the mufflers is an individual opinion. In my book, loud for the sake of loud doesn't make a muffler sound better. some think it does. Bottom line is removing the cat from a stock headpipe definitely does alter the sound. If you like the sound of cannons without a CAT in a stock pipe, good for you. I know at least 3 others beside myself that found the sound of cannons with no cat on the stock headpipe to be hollow and raspy sounding. Not the nice mellow rumble they had before.

I have noticed that my Street Cannons sound better when warm, and it makes sense to me. things expand under heat. Maybe the screen that is holding the insulation in is expanding, in turn compressing the insulation more...?

I have access to a borescope kit from work and am thinking about looking inside the head pipe and doing a partial removal of the CAT material, then firing it up and taking it for a ride. Borescope before and after. Should be an interesting little project. Maybe do sound clips before and after as well.
