Default Gona try something with my FP3

YOU CAN GO TO PG 8 FOR UP-DATE.

I have never been real happy with my FP3, could be just over expectations, so I'm going to pay $200 to have a tuner I know flash a PV and then dyno it. Total $450. If I'm not happy with how it comes out he will put it back like it was -$100. I'm the type that has no problem telling him how I feel on this kind of deal. If I don't feel any real improvement then I'm out a $100 I can live with that for peace of mind. I should know by tomorrow night if it helps. I will up-date.

Why not dyno and tune with the fp3? A lot of tuners are not familiar with the fp3 and it takes longer using an iPad or iPod, the fp3 won't display on there dyno screen like the PV. The PV is made by dynojet and it's probably a dynojet dyno and he's probably more comfortable using the PV. My bike was tuned using the fp3 and an iPod mini, it was the tuners first time using the fp3 and its tuned very well.

You are right, he is not comfortable with the FP3, he said to change the cells on a FP3 would take 1 1/2 days to get it right. I already have this set up with him and I'm curious how she will run with a PV any way.

First up-date.
I have just over 180 miles with the PV and so far don't feel much different. The one spot it seems a little faster in is 3 to 4000 rpm. So far I haven't got to any of the safer roads where I can top her out. Idol is not any smoother and it don't run any smoother. That's about it for now.

Well, maybe the FP3 was OK.
I have the Power Vision (PV2), I bought it with a custom map then did a couple of auto tunes, it runs good, no complaints. I Have a non cat head pipe and CVO mufflers on the bike and that's it.
If the PV doesn't work out you might want to visit the tuner section here for advice, I don't know anything about the FP3.
What other mods are done to the engine?

Good luck,
Mike

OK I think I'm done. I have over 300 miles on her and today went to the safest roads I know to let her top out, 3 times in 2 different directions because of wind, no deference. I forgot to say my FP3 dyno was 82 hp 94 lbs. He did about 25 runs with the PV and the best was 80 hp 91 lbs, but he said he got the power to the right places. All I know is he won't like my phone call tomorrow. He went in to this Knowing I might have him put it back, So my FP3 is better then I had given it credit for. Now I know. I should add this guy is nice and a good tuner, but hasn't worked with much Harleys. Mine was the first Rushmore he did.

I'd say that is a good apples to apples comparison of the FP3 with auto tune and a PV with a dyno tune since they both were ran on the same dynomometer. I'd like to see the same comparison with the FP3 and PV2 both with auto tune.

I'm not looking forward to calling him tomorrow, he put a lot of time in to my bike trying to get the PV to out perform the FP3. My FP3 has a lean spot from 3 to 4000 rpm. I will see if V&H can help on that, otherwise the bike runs the same with ether one. I'm not going to drop my $300 FP3 in the trash can.

I'm a little surprised in the lack of interest in this Thread. Must be most guys with the FP3 are happy so they just except it. I was unsure of the FP3 so I had to do this for piece of mind. I hope this Thread will help others like me. After I get my FP3 re flashed I will work with V&H to see if they can help me in my lean spot. He gave me this stick thing that shows the dyno runs. I forgot to grab it when I left. I don't know if he will let me have it after he has to re-install my FP3.
If I do get it I will have my Son come over and put some of them up on here.
