tour pak conversion using 2013 tour pak rack
I have a tour pak rack from my 2013 Ultra that I want to use on my Rushmore Ultra. Has anyone done this? I'm thinking the only problem might be saddlebag lids hitting tour pak. And maybe it could be spaced up to clear. Would this be worthwhile? Thanks.

I was wanting to use 2009-2013 style conversion kit to make my 2014 Rushmore into a disconnect. Wonder if anyone has tried this and any major problems? I would have to buy the docking hardware kit for the bike itself. Would like to be able to use the tour pak rack if it would work. I'm thinking I may have to re-drill the rack to make it compatible with the tour pak holes.

I put a 2009 King Tour Pack on my 14 SGS. Everything bolted up just fine using a QD mount and stock holes. The only problem I encountered is that the electrical draw of the TP lights combined with the bike's tail lights caused the ECM to shut down all the tail lights as it read too high of a power draw. I solved this problem by replacing the tail lights on the bike with LED bulbs. My bag lids are VERY close to rubbing the bottom of the TP, but they work fine. Some guys have reported that the lids do hit the TP, so you may have to use some spacers. I installed the TP rack with the additional LED brake light and the connecter that comes with the light is a direct plug in to the bike's factory harness. I just tapped into the luggage rack light wire with some butt connectors to run the TP lights. As far as I know, I was one of the first guys to try this. The service guys at the dealership told me that it couldn't be done with over the counter parts and that they would have to charge me several hours labor to custom design a wiring harness for it. BS, it was extremely simple.
