Update on Grip Diameters
As I mentioned in a previous post, I noticed that the grip on the right side was of a smaller diameter than the grip on the left side on my 2016 Road Glide Ultra.
I took the bike to the dealer to have the correct sized grip installed on the right handlebar. While I was waiting, I measured some other showroom bikes grips to see if they had the same problem. Turns out all the touring bikes in the showroom that did not have heated grips, had this same thing. The right hand grip was of a smaller diameter than the left hand grip by about a quarter of an inch.
Does anyone know why ? I stopped them from installing a replacement grip because that replacement grip was also a quarter inch less in diameter than the left grip. Very strange...

I don't know what year bikes you guys have, but the Dealership Manager and I started measuring the diameters of all the touring bikes with non heated grips that were on the floor. This only pertains to 2016 models as that is what was on the floor.
Every bike was the same. All the Road Kings, Road Glides, and Street Glides had a smaller diameter right hand grip versus the left hand grip, by a quarter of an inch. The replacement grips in the parts department were the same as the bikes. Throttle side stock replacement grips were a quarter of an inch smaller in diameter then the clutch side grips.
So, the question isn't whether or not the issue exists, as every 2016 touring bike bike was the same, regardless of model, as well as all the replacement stock grips in the parts department, the question is why. There must be a reason. But, what the heck could it be ?

The thin Touring grip part numbers are:
56667-04 Left
56100075 Right
They come stock on the "Low" Touring models. I ordered some (for 28.00 from the dealer) to install on my 2011 Road King. I use heated gloves a lot and ride thru winter. The smaller diameter grips work well with the gloves and make clutch modulation easier. For those using heated gloves, have small hands, or both, and ride a newer TBW Touring bike this is a cheap solution.
As far as the two grip sizes. My guess is that was a manufacturing error.
