Default Change the Oil ?

A couple of weeks ago I brought home a 2016 Road Glide Ultra. We probably only have a week or so left in this year's riding season. By that point, I'll have around 400 miles on it. My question is, should I change the oil now, before I put the bike away for the Winter, or wait until Spring and I hit the 1,000 mile mark and have the full service done ?

Will it be in a climate control storage?

Go for a 600 mile ride, change it, and store it. Hopefully you bought it to ride.

I would do this.
I changed my oil at 100 miles and again at 1000 and 5000, I have less than 8000 on the bike right now and will change again in the Spring.

It is said (I'm not a chemist so I don't know) that old dirty that sits for long periods forms acid which promotes corrosion...as Hart says, peace of mind!

Changing oil at 500 miles is senseless . But if you are going to put the bike away for the season and it is not in a climate controlled area change it for peace of mind.

What is the difference between climate controlled or not, when it comes to storing a bike with lightly used oil in it ?

It really doesn't, I was just curious. With only 400 miles it's more important to clean the bike, wash off road film, than change the oil before storing especially if it's not climate control storage.
