Default 103 Air Cleaner Cover

So I bought an extra air cleaner cover for my 103 at a swap meet this morning with the intention of having it powder coated black to match the bike. My question is how do I remove the rubber and SS screen at the inlet? Also I would assume that the velcro holding the 103 emblem on would need to be removed as well. Anybody know where you can get a replacement? Thanks

My Screamin Eagle Air Cleaner kit came with a SE black decal for the AC cover. That piece had an extra piece of velcro on it. If you know anyone getting it you could try their's because they shouldn't need it. Interested in the results of your screen though. I was thinking of doing that when I get my bike out of storage.

Probably too late now, but I saw Harley sells the 103 cover in gloss black now.
Not a bad price at broadtracker.

I did mine and just get some industrial velcro. Had a lot of things powder coated at once.

Really all the black was done by a local powder coater, I have about 900.00 dollars in it all. I took it apart and put it back together. I looks different now, i finished it up.

So bigrob, how did the SS Screen and rubber come out of the snout of the AC cover?

It's very easy. Just squeeze the long sides together and it pops out. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Is it possible that the powder coat is too thick and the parts that hold the mesh won't stick together? Had that issue.... Butchered my cover... To board tracker it is!
