Default Large windshield for my 14 Limited

Decided to buy a larger windshield for my 14 Ultra Limited. Was happy with my "medium size" clearview brand windshield with a recurve and smoke tint until I installed a Hammock seat, raising me up a bit. When I hit rain I needed to duck a little.

Purchased the new ( was not available when I purchased the medium size ) "Large size" clearview brand windshield that is 5 inches wider in addition to 1" higher. The wider windshields is something fairly new. It may not be as good looking as my smaller windshield but it sure does work better. I am 6 foot, this is the maximum size shield I could use and still look over.

Originally I was going to use the large shield for trips only, now that I have tried it, I am going to leave it on all the time. Note the rubber gromment that slips on the bottom outside corners of the windshield as it rest against the inner fairing. without the gromment I'm afraid you might scratch your inner fairing.

If you ever feel you need a bigger windshield, this is a good option. The last two photos show the medium size for comparison with the six photos showing the large shield.

What I don't like about Clearview shields is they engrave their nameplate into the shield. At least with LRS, it's easy to pop off their nameplate decal.
But I'm glad you like the shield.

There name is clear engraved down in the corner, you hardly notice it. I think it's a good idea.. Each there own I guess

Thanks for the pics Scottt. I ordered a Med recurve wide to try on my '16 Limited. I'm 5'11", so hopefully I can look over it and it takes the buffeting away from my wife.

I got one from Freedom Shields last year and am very happy with it. Guy I ride with bought one too. Freedom Shields even let you try it out:

Test Ride our Shield:
Your shield will come with a protective plastic film applied to both sides of the shield. Make sure to leave the plastic on the shield, mount the shield and take a short test ride, as long as you have good visibility over the shield.
If you are not completely satisfied with the height or performance of the shield, you may return the shield for a different size or for full credit (less any shipping charges) as long as the shield is like new and the protective plastic film has not been removed.
Take your time . . . make sure it is right. No worries if you order in the winter months and it takes until Spring to try it out.

I was looking at that sheild the other day. My question is how does the Boss like it? We were out on a ride Sunday and the wife got hit several times in the ear from bugs.

I bought a shield from Freedom Shields a month ago. It's well made, looks great and gives me better protection than the OEM. Talk to John, he is very helpful.

Give Clearview a call. Tall and 4" wider then stock.
