Default Chrome Gas tank lid angle too narrow?

Does anyone else think the chrome gas cap tank lid is too "straight" up and down? Because the tank is slanted, it makes the angle even worse (not 90 degrees to tank) and getting a fuel nozzle in and out is a pain in the butt.
Has anyone found an adjustment or way to have the lid lay flatter to allow getting the fuel nozzle in and out better?

THanks

I have thought this for the last two years since I got mine. I'm surprised know one has come up with a aftermarket part or fix.

I think it's too straight also. I have to turn my bars away from the side I'm filling up on to get the nozzle in. It's not so bad with just a plain nozzle, but if it has the splash guard on the nozzle, it's a pain in the you know what.

If nothing else, it makes you be careful when filling. I actually hate the design but I believe I will never hurt my tank as it is so tedious to get the nozzle in without putting pressure on the lid. I am afraid I am going to break it off as the nozzle always seems to put pressure on it.

I'm glad it's not just me. All the research and thought into the Rushmore series and little things like this and NO BLUETOOTH HSP are missed. Drives me nuts.

Another option.

Might have to consider this...just because.

Cheers
