Question What do you think?

Saw this when going over my 14 FLHTK this winter. Bike was going into the dealership for some warranty work so I asked them to look at the brake lines also. Their response today was that it's just "road grime" and "static cling". I am in total dissagreement with them, I believe there is a slight leak/weep at the brake line crimp. If it was static cling and road grime, my opinion is that the other brake lines in the same area would have the same condition. I tried debating/argueing the issue with the service writer but was completely shut down. Bike is just about to run out of warranty. What's the opinion on this, should I be concerned? If so, any recomendations on how to resolve this?

Clean it off completely and dry. Then work the brakes hard at idle standing still. Then recheck. If it is weeping find another dealer to replace it under warranty cause the one you went to doesnt care.

I'd wipe it off and check it after every ride for a while. OR X amount of miles. I can see their point, as in the picture it looks like road grime.

It looks like a leak to me. Man I do not think I have see a battery compartment that dirty. I would do as others have suggested, clean the entire battery box area and brake lines so when the problem shows up it will be the only thing dirty in the battery compartment.

I think it is road grime as well if it is weeping your brakes would be sucking air in as well as leaking making for soft brakes.

Reservoir was slightly low but I initially attributed that to brake pad wear and a leak I had at the reservoir cover seal. The bike is supposed to be dropped back off today. I'm going to clean up that mess in & around the battery compartment then I'm going to get on the brakes for all I'm worth and see what happens. Better to have an issue sitting still than to have it when I'm moving and possibly far away from help. I will post the results, good or bad, tomorrow. Thanks for the replies.

If it was road grime, everything would look that way there. It clearly looks different from those 2 lines, I mean it's not even close and the lines are side by side.

Don't the dealers get paid back for warranty work from the Moco? I've never understood why the dealers seem to fight obvious warranty work. Dealer get's paid for the work and we (typically) buy clothing, parts and accessories while waiting for the work to be done.

How long until the warranty expires?
