Default Boom screen protective film

I've been noticing on my Boom screen what I thought was condensation inside the screen. Today I went for a ride and happened to notice those notches in the corners of the screen where the protective film is. I started wondering if what I'm seeing is not inside the screen but between the screen and the film.

Has anyone replaced that film yet? Can it be removed with the unit in the bike or does it need to come out from the inside of the fairing first?
