Default Auxiliary Light Power Switch Kit

I am sure this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find a clear answer so here it goes.

I have a 2016 HD FLHXS and I am looking to add additional LED Auxiliary Fog / Flood Lights onto my bike. I am trying to determine what electrical parts I need to make this happen.

I am thinking I need these parts:

Or can I go with these parts:

I've done some reading that have indicated when running auxiliary lights with the power switch kit that they won't stay on when the headlight hi-beams are on. To have the auxiliary lights stay on the system needs "flashed" and done by an HD service tech. If this is the case, what other options can I go with to add power to the auxiliary lights without having to "flash" the system?

Also, what would be the benefit to having this part:

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just did this with mine. My street glide did not come with AUX lights or the acc switches. I ordered

                      this kit
                      71400106

                      and this
                      69200173

The second part number is for the module the controls the acc and aux switches and also includes the aux switch.

The first part number you listed is just for the module and the acc switches not the aux.

in the pic you can see the module in section I in the bottom left

What impala says for the kit is the way to go.

Additionally, i don't believe you'll need a dealer flash for the aux lamps as you're adding the circuit. The flash is needed on ultras and Limiteds as they are on the same circuit as headlights and controlled by the bcm

Thank you Impala and DSM for your help. Looking forward to getting those parts and installing the lights. Be safe out on the roads!

You could also go with this switch.

I use one for heated seat, one for leds, and one for led driving lights.

I added a led headlight and put fog lights on the engine guard. I wired the fog lights directly to the high beam so they shut off when meeting cars. This way I can angle them out. I just tapped into the pigtail harness going to the headlight. No switch required.

Depending on which lights you buy, they may come with a switch. My Motolights did.

As far as wiring them the factory why they will still shut off with high beam so you'll need to have it flashed. If you look at the connector for the blinkers there is an extra spot for a wire. It is filled with like a white plug that you push out and slide the passing lamp wire through with a terminal. Right now I have mine pushed through and the wire folded along the plug so I could test them as I do not have all the parts to finish it 100%.

Maybe i should clarify my post. If you run them off of the new Auxiliary switch and wire them from the accessory plug under the left side cover, you will not need the flash. If you wire them from the factory loom in the fairing, then a flash will be in order

I installed the HD aux light kit, came with a switch, everything was plug and play. Works without a flash.
