Default My Ultra Glide

So rewind back to last year when. I was in the dealership to buy a new Harley. I went in there for a Street Glide and had my wife in tow. Of course when she saw the Ultra Classic she liked it better than the Street Glide. I didn't hate it but there was a lot of stuff I didn't like. The geezer chrome lighted doodads on the fender tips would have to go I knew right away I thought to myself. I did like that it came with coms and a Tourpak though. Salesman was right that it would cost a lot more to make a street glide an Electra glide than the other way around.

So there you have it I now have a bike with 13" suspension, removable Tourpak, Street Glide fenders, and 19" front wheel and 18" rear wheel.

Here she is and I call her the Ultra Glide

Next season mods will be CVO style stretched bags and either cams or go with a 107 or 110 kit. Right now it's riding time.

How loud is this setup compared to the stock setup?

At idle it is mellow. It has a nice lope and chop sound. At cruising you know it's not stock but it is not annoying and it does not drone. When giving it some gas it has a loud bark. The pipes almost have a split personality because they go from mild to wild fast. They do not have the low frequency "bass" sound like some of the other pipes I have heard. Crisp and snappy.

Hey when you replaced your fenders what happens to the wiring harnesses that ran the fender lights?

I would like to possibly reuse them for some LED lighting for effects...

Mike.

I like it! Coming from a Street Glide I have the same issues with my new Limited and want to do the same as you. Looks good.

Looks good. I've done similar to mine. I found color matched front and rear fenders on ebay, and switched them out. I couldn't be happier.

On the Ultra the wiring harness is part of the fender and the front plugs into the front fairing and the rear plugs in under the seat. When swapping out the rear you simply buy the harness for the street glide and plug in under the seat.
