Default After market pipes too low.

I mounted Cobra Power Port Headers on my 2016 Limited. Turns out that they are too low, that is too close to the ground. I have not made any changes to the suspension, with 20 psi in the rear shocks running one up. After the installation it appeared to me that they were lower than stock. Recently in a 30 mph corner I grounded the right heat shield. I wasn't pushing that hard so this is disappointing.

On my previous Harley's the floor boards acted as the initial feelers and then the floor board support, the shiny parts never touched down.

I also compared other after market pipes and most have the same problem.

I you check the stock pipes you will see that the front and rear headers are coved together to give additional ground clearance.

A too common problem with these after market header pipes.

I had a set on my SGS, great exhaust headers. I could ride aggressively when solo and never scraped the bottems.

I thought they mounted a little to high, cause the upper heat shield would almost cover up my timer cover.

Are u sure you did bottom out in a driveway or riding over speed bump or something.

This is one of the reasons, simply decatting the stock pipes goes a long way to heat reduction and improved ridability, with no loss in cornering clearance...cheaper too.

There's a reason the stock crossover is flat.

Fuelmoto X pipe, because it fits under your stock heatshield.

FM 2-1-2 header does not scrape, I guarantee it. De-catting a stocker is a waste of time.

I have RC Components PowerMax headers on a '14 Ltd. The bottom heat shield scrapes before the floor board on the right side. It is not the cross-over pipe that scrapes, rather more toward the front of the lower pipe heat shield under the floorboard. It sounded like the floor board when it happened.

A friend has S&S Power Tune headers on a '15 Road Glide Ultra. Same thing and in same place.

Both of us were on stock rear suspensions, one-up, and not loaded down.

Fulsac here, stock shields never bottomed out, and I'm pretty big at 265lbs
