Pump, or cooling system failure, your engine, and temp lights will come on,. At least that is what mine did

it was *97 here the other day and i never heard my fans turn on either. i think after adding some fuel it cools the engine down some. still i wonder what would happen if you took the thermostat out of the loop ?

I would think that the thermostat is there so the coolant in the radiator s can cool , like any other liquid cooled engine ,till it opens, exchanging the hot and cool ,

17,000 on my 14 Limited and no problems yet. I have extended warranty but hope I don't have to use it.

The thermostat is there to allow the engine to attain normal operating temperatures.

If the coolant temperature is below 165 °F (74 °C), the coolant is routed through the pump and back to the engine. Above 165 °F (74 °C), the thermostat opens and the coolant flows to the left radiator (6), then across to the right radiator (2) before returning to the pump through the bottom portion of the thermostat housing.

would this be a bad thing to keep the head temps. down ? i can't see it being to cool. the heads are going to get pretty warm no matter what. i think someday the after market will start making quality cooling parts for the rushmore bikes, i hope. it looks like there will be a market for them.
