Default Hi flow exhaust screaming eagle

I purchased a flhtcu and installed stage v with high flow air cleaner and full exhaust. The factory website says they moved the catalytic converter to the mufflers. Has anyone installed slip ons to avoid the catalytic converter?

Why? Why would you buy an exhaust system thats over $1K then remove the most expensive part? Just go after market at that point and get a Fuel Moto or Full Sac header and what ever slip-on's you want.

The way the EPA is cracking down on everything. thats my reason why.
lets say you have to have a emissions test in order to get your plates renewed. if you have a exhaust that don't meet the government standards. they will force you to remove it and install the correct system in order to be compliant.
I want to change my exhaust but want to find out more about this system as well. I wish i had a better answer that everyone wanted to hear. Sorry
just a sign of things to come.

This is easy, get whatever head pipe and slip-on's you want. Hang original head pipe with CAT in your garage. If you every have to do a sniffer test swap the head pipe before you take it in, then swap it back when you get home. What it will cost like $20 bucks in gaskets and 4 hr of work.

I see your point. I have the same exhaust and though the cats don't bother me, I do wish it was a bit louder.... But not enough to justify changing in them out. I would imagine any slip-one would work as long as they are the same length and the intake diameter are the same.

When I bought my '15 FLHTK (new), the dealer had already installed a Stage IV kit plus the Screamin Eagle High-Flow exhaust with Nightstick mufflers. I bought additional discs from SuperTrapp, but the Nightsticks just didn't have the sound I wanted. I checked with several muffler manufacturers, but there were none that would fit the head pipe, due to the larger inlets (2.25"). Consequently, I took off the exhaust system and replaced it.

I've kept the high-flow head pipe and Nightsticks just in case I would ever need to put them back on. BTW, the cats are in the Nightsticks.
