I just purchased a New 2017 RGS, looking for opinions on seat replacements. I'm a large man, 6' 2' 345lbs, i had a Mustang Super Wide touring on my 07 Street glide ultra, and it was OK, but not the greatest seat. I did several Iron butts on it so it was fine, but was never really that impressed with it.

Just for yucks, see if the dealer has a take-off Road King seat you can try. It looks dumb, but I'm thoroughly impressed with mine.

I really like my Lepera daddy long legs maverick seat with backrest . I am 6 3 350lbs. I am using it on a 2015 ultra limited and much better than the mustang super tour I tried before this. The Harley tallboy seat was ok but not great.

 

I've heard good things about the HD RoadZepplin seat from the big guys I ride with.

I am going to suggest a Police spring seat. It is very wide and very, very comfortable.

The stock base pan does not necessarily make for a good platform for bigger riders to be modded. I suggest the guy demo all the HD touring seats. That costs nothing. Can't beat try before you buy.

 

I love my stock Ultra seat. I'm 6' 340. Without TP, I use a stock SG seat.

 

I'm 6'1" and got a Mustang Super tour, it's better than the wide tour, I've had both. True it's on a 07 but still,

 

Thinking you should probably go to your local dealer and try some of the demo seats. Following that, wait until you can go to a few rally's and try some of theirs and then start deciding on what you want.
Then start looking for the best deal.
