Default First 5000 miles: 2016 Limited

I bought a new 2016 limited back in January, when the incentives kicked it. I picked it up in February, when spring arrived early. Today I hit 5000 miles. I've had zero issues. This thing is head and shoulders above my 09 Ultra. There's more power, it rides better, I can touch the ground better, and I'm already spoiled with Boom system.

My longest day of riding was 12 hours, and I did 425 miles. It started warm and sunny and ended in a torential down pour. I find the seating position very comfortable.

I did have to adjust the headlight, as it was basically pointed straight at the ground...LOL.

I do wish it shifted as quiet as a new M8, but I'm glad I don't have any of the issues some new M8 owners are having. Since there was no incentive on an M8, it wasn't happening anyway.

I can't wait to take a nice 10 trip on this thing.

Great. I have 5,500 miles now on my 16 limited and love it as well. I had to adjust headlight too and had to change seat/handlebars to fit me better.

Not much to dislike about the Limited. Wife and I can ride all day and still feel good when we get off the bike. Lots of people complain about the Boom system but I find it pretty useful and not that hard to use.

Congrats! Love my 2016 Limited, 15xxx miles, only one real issue was the water pump went out at 13xxx miles, replaced under warranty so no biggie!

Enjoy your new ride, stay safe!

I bought my 16RGU a year ago. After the break in period I took it to an indy for a dyno tune. Just stock condition. Before the tune, I was running 70h/89t. After the tune, my sheet shows 79h/101t. So much for the one map fits all by Harley. Yeah stock condition, that means stock pipes, stock intake, stock cams.

Congratulations on the new bike. Excellent choice.

Ride safe

My 15 Limited shifted like a tank, hard to hit neutral etc. At 2500 service Serv Mgr recommended Redline shock proof in Trans. Shifts like butter hit neutral first time every time now. Love that Amber Whiskey combo.

I'm another very happy Limited owner. I turned 15k last weekend and have only had a couple issues (water pump died, shifter arm stripped).

OP, as far as the shifting goes, I've been using Belray synthetic for the transmission (Syn3 for the others) and I find it shifts way better, and not as noisy, then with Syn3 in there.

Love my 15. Never tired when I reach my final destination. Recommend the hammock seat. Everyone that rode mine ended up buying one.
