Replacing the battery question

I've got the same question. I want to replace the battery. I'm planning on leaving the flob in the bike. I don't have an audible alarm, just the flashing lights on alarm. I plan on disconnecting the battery and then replacing it with a new one. Does anyone who has replaced their battery see anytrhing wrong in doing it this way ?
Thanks Jonnierock

Just did this a week ago with a Radio Shack siren installed. I had the fob in my pocket and had no trouble. If you have the HD siren my understanding is it has its battery supply so the procedure is with fob present turn ignition on and pull maxi fuse, then proceed with battery swap.
Lots of confusion on this out there. I know as I was confused myself.
I hope this helps.

As a member has mentioned , it can be confusing ....
If you have security/alarm system fitted ....
When replacing battery, and or disconnecting battery cables for maintenance....
With fob present ,,,Remove left caddy cover, (where maxi fuse is located),,, turn ignition ON ,,,, Wait for system to disarm , (turn signals will flash and stop), system is now disarmed ,,, Turn ignition OFF ,,,, Pull maxi fuse ....
Note ... You have approx 5 seconds between turning the ignition OFF, and pulling maxi fuse, (plenty of time), otherwise, security system will go through the re arm process..
When new battery and cables have been installed , install maxi fuse ,, start bike as normal .....
