Default Installed Electra Glo LED Saddlebag Lights

I installed these saddle bag lights myself. I chose the smoke lens to match the other rear smoke lens LED lights on my 2015 Road Glide CVO.

Run/Brake/Turn Lamp-Chrome Housing/Smoked Lens-67800-451A
$187 +$5 shipping. From Broadtracker.

Looks great! I had a set on my 2014 and now my 2016. The ones on my '14 lasted over two years. The ones on my '16 lasted five months. The left side began flickering. The plug pins were corroded and would NOT be covered under the year warranty! My dealer would replace the six pins charging a half hour labor for each of the six pins. A cost of $300 for something that cost about $200 originally. I fixed it myself. As much as I like these I will not be buying HD ones next time! There are other lights now being sold for this purpose.

I've had them since they were available. I wanted more light and these did the trick. I have a friend with a '17 CVO Limited. I'm trying to talk him into adding these as well. The smoke lens look good but is not as bright as the red when just in run mode, IMO.

Mine began flickering just 3 weeks before the warranty ran out. I rode to the dealer and showed it to them. Dealer replaced them for me. They didn't look at the connections or anything. After some further research I was told to give the connections a good dose of dielectric grease...which I did. Almost two years later and they still work fine. The grease keeps dirt out and helps eliminate corrosion.

YMMV

Back in 1973 I was hit from behind while on a motorcycle, the Electra Glo Saddlebag lights
were a must on my Bike. I also added a Run & Brake light on my Tri Bar fender light too.
When I stop I want the Cages to know, at 71 I'm a heal slower, and don't want this Bike totaled.

.Frank the Real Biker,
I did install both sets with dialectical grease. That's what was surprising about them being corroded. I knew I was in trouble when the parts guy said that the service department had to look at them. I just wanted them to look and justify that they did not work. They wanted to charge me to diagnose the problem, but they waived that with some persuasion. They then told me they could replace the pins at 1/2 hour each, for about $300. I don't think so.
I was pissed and called HD customer service, they also told me if they were corroded they aren't covered under warranty. (Only five months old)
I really like those lights but there are other options out there now. So HD won't get my money for them.
