Default 2016 or the new 2017

First I am currently riding an 04 RKC that I will be keeping. So I will not have a trade in this situation.

I found a used 2016 RGS in Amber Whiskey and it is stock which allows me to make it mine! Or should I consider a new 2017 RGS with the new M8 engine? I would most likely put a 113" kit in the 2016 if I go that route. Whats everyones opinons on the new M8? is the new bike that much better than the previous year?

I came from an 07 Street Glide to a 17 Ultra Limited. To me the differences were major. First is there is way more seat of the pants power in the M8. It is smoother with significantly less vibration. The newer frame and larger front forks make the handling better. Now to be fair, I will not be putting performance upgrades in my bike. I personally feel if I want a really fast bike I would buy a bike made to go really fast (my younger days. One last thing, the linked Brembo brakes are the best I have ever experienced on a touring bike. Good luck with you search and ride safe.

Keep in mind that the only difference with the '17 is the M8 (nice difference, I might add). '14 and later Rushmore's have the forks, linked brakes, etc. The frame is from '09 to current '17's.

I would wait a little longer and see what the 2018 brings.

Both good bikes. At this point in time with very few failures as of late I would go the route of the 17 or wait for an 18. The 17's are a good bit better than any of the previous years.
