Dyno Tune a dying thing or truly needed?
#11
^^ This. My indy is well known and a tune is $250. They took an ill tuned by the dealer motor that i had taken back to them 2x for pinging and they never fixed. When the indy (now Wide open cycles) tuned it I gained both torque and HP and the bike never pinged again.

In my opinion, Power Vision with a good base tune & Auto Tune will give you what you need, unless you are racing where a 10th or even a 100th of a second counts in which case a dyno tune is necessary. Plus with PV You get a pot full of other features to play with if you are so inclined. When you make a change you call Fuel Moto or S&S (or whoever you bought it from) and get another base tune and do it again. Lots of fun at a reasonable cost. I wouldn't go near a HD dealer's service department for anything, let alone after market modifications.
