Although before my time and that's along time ago, the record player under the dash, big and chrome I remember, in the 50's maybe.
I have only seen those once or twice on Barrett Jackson. I assume they were only for use when you were parked with your best girl at the submarine races?
Growing up we had a reel to reel deck. The spools were yuge, but you could record hours and hours of music and never have to get up. You had better liked all the songs though, advancing to the next track was painful. CD,s and MP 3 sure has spoiled us.
The good ol days of the 8track. Listen to the only song you like, then hold the FF button in till the tape does a full cycle till the song comes back up. The cassette was a blessing being able to rewind. That was some high tech engineering right then!
