Husband says the clutch chatters and has a wobbly take off, especially when hot. Dealer can't find any problems. He doesn't like that there is so little play in the clutch, but the chattering is disturbing. This is a 2017 Street Glide Special.

Any time I hear about mystery stuff like this that the dealer says is normal, I suggest find a fellow late model Harley rider to give the bike a test ride to confirm your problem.
If you are experiencing chatter on take off,I would say not enough throttle is being applied when clutch is engaging. 2017 clutches engage further out then previous models.Practice will alleviate this concern.

We have a winner, the 2017 clutch has a total different engagement and feel. It takes practice.
Getting used to my 14 Ultra limited. If I don't give it enough throttle on take off I get some noise and chatter. I find it best to bump the throttle and rev it before take off to get the rpm up and engine spinning a bit. Easy smooth noiseless takeoff.

Same here, if you don't give it enough throttle it chatters and stumbles, I find I have to concentrate on giving more throttle. Might have something to do with the hi-lift cams causing more of an uneven idle...
Yep, don't lug it on take off. 2000-2200 rpm will ensure a smooth take off once use to the hydraulic's friction zone area. Took me a while to get used to it, but now I won't trade it. It is always consistent, not tech's preference.
