I joined the "I lost my heel shifter" group a short time ago. After changing my shifter connecting rod to a heaver Willie G shifter rod and then adjusting the toe and heel shifters (using blue lock tight) I found it missing when I made a stop. Yes, I was pissed and wound up putting electrical tape on the remaining splines to keep the toe shifter from going bye-bye as well. I went to the local stealership to ask the parts guy can I replace it with a 2017 heel shifter and after 10 minutes of him telling me everything that I didn't care about I came to realize he didn't know a **** from a twinkie...
Thinking that the set screw on the 2017 heel shifter is on top of the shifter the probability of it backing out and then falling out are less than the 2015 "screw from the underside" shifter.
So....can anyone answer my question, Can I get a 2017 heel shifter to replace the 2015? The stealership will gladly sell me a 2017 but if it doesn't fit, I'm stuck with it.... Thank for your help!

 

Why would you be stuck with it? I've returned parts to dealerships before, no hassle.

GTK is correct. In fact, if you look at heel/toe shifter levers on the H-D website, many are compatible with the 17s, as well as earlier models.

 

rv7garage, You see what kind of intelligent help they have at my stealership! That's what the idiot told me. Thank you all, I believe I will order the 2017. I believe the screw on top will do the trick.
