Needles all through the motor. Looks like I am getting a new motor, ESP approved. 33k miles.

 

UhOh, that's ugly. First Rushmore I've heard of with a cam bearing failure, use'ta be more common with the older twin cam. Don't like hearing that stuff

 

OP, what were the symptoms of this when it failed?

 

There was no "event". Pulled into a service station and noticed a louder than usual clanging noise from the motor. It still ran fine but got noisier as I continued on. My buddies and I figured I lost a lifter. Pulled into a dealership and left it there for further investigation. Last 50 miles were on the freeway. I was still 100 miles from home. I imagine if I had kept riding there would have been an "event".
