Lots of differing opinions here, some bashing the dealer, some bashing the buyer. I'm gonna ask the question, a kind if informal survey...if you could afford the $52K ($10K over MSRP) this dealer wants for this bike, would you buy it? I'll go first, I wouldn't buy it, I had a hard time justifying almost $30K for a bike I ride 6K miles and 8 months a year...

I wouldn't. Although, I prefer Kings. Windshield can come off and I can feel the wind to the max and have a great field of vision. I have mine modded to fit me which gets me up to the cost of a dresser. Maybe other people's body fits perfectly on any bike, but not mine...

I have no issue with anyone paying whatever they want, it's there business. I flew across the country to purchase my RK from the family sales rep that my father in law has been buying from for 20 years. Got a great deal and had a several thousand mile ride to get it home. That made an excellent way to start the bond and realize what was working and what need to be changed too...

A CVO is just that a CVO
its not better unless you think its better and its surly not worth a 10 g markup to me
could I have a CVO sure
but I would rather have put that additional cash in my retirement account at this point so I can retire early and ride all year

the Harley dealers are driving us regular folks out thats for sure

Ride safe guys

I know this has been quoted once but it bears repeating.

There's a sucker born every minute. Absolutely true, even though PT Barnum supposedly never actually said it.

The MoCo has counted on that fact ever since they came up with the CVO scam.

They do it every year with the CVO's. I owned a 01 FLTRSEI2 and it was over MSRP. They did give me over KBB for my trade in against it. I kept it for 10 years. Loved it, but not worth it IMHO. When it came time to trade it in, it was worth no more than an ultra. But considering we dump thousands of dollars in engines, wheels, chrome, and other upgrades if you like it, its your money.

It doesnt matter if its 52k or 8k it is the same wind, fun and experience either way. I will keep my plain jane street glide and add to it as funds allow. That is great that someone out there is better off and can afford that 52k summer toy

Not the Anniversary limited. Each dealer gets one, and only one. All the other CVO's they can get more. That said, I would never pay over MSRP

True. I have had many CVO bikes. I do not pay over MSRP. I trade my two year old one in on a new one. I get very good money for my trade.

Nope, I blame the idiot who pays over MSRP.

I got the first CVO off the truck at my local dealer. Gunship Gray Road glide. It was not over MSRP.
