Great write up - thanks. Good job on the miles.

I have a 2014 and am only at 34,000. Friend of mine has the same bike as I do -and he is at 80,000. Looks like I have some riding to do.

Also agree with the ESP - mine does not expire until 2020

Guess it just goes to show that these "lean running" motors don't actually need to be modded or tuned etc. to last.

I always assumed that this was true - thanks for proving it.

Congrats on the milestone, and ride safe,

JP

Lol, not quite. I was using formula+ in the primary when I had the stock clutch, however the Rekluse calls for a jaso-ma2, so I switched to Castrol 20-50 for Harleys. I run Bel-ray hypoid gear oil in the transmission. I have always run Syn3 in the engine. I just provide the non-HD oil.

My pleasure! There have been a few times along the way that I wanted to stage 1 to cool it off, but just never got around to it. Too busy using it, lol

I normally buy a bike new, in 3 years run it over 100,000 miles. It is running as good or almost as good as when I bought it new.

Traded in.

Do the whole thing all over again.

So yes, the bikes can cruise over hundred thousand miles and keep on going if maintained well.

All I ever did was to bring it in on it service dates.

Harley makes great, great, great bikes!

Everyone knows the speedometer is ~5% high on those bikes so you don't really have 100k yet, more like ~95k.
