I need to replace a saddlebag lid on my 2015 SG. Does anyone know if an aftermarket is as good as the OEM? I can find new take-offs for around $180 on Ebay. But was hoping not to pay that much. It is Vivid Black.

I'd be leary with anything except the OEM lid ...AND if you can order it painted in the proper color I'd go that route. Fit, finish and exact color matching would be more improtant to me than saving some $$.......think also about re-sale value. Spend the bucks and go OEM......IMHO

 

I bought a set of tops and bottoms on eBay for my wife’s Heritage. Had to buy the hinge kit separately. I used the Fische from Ronnie’s H-D to put them together, and they seam to be an exact replica of the Rushmore bags.

The quality is very nice and the vivid black looks great. I got the TCMT brand. I wouldn’t think you’ve about buying a top if one of my Road Glide bags needed it.

 

I had to get a replacement bag and lid after a slight fender bender. Installed HD parts back in Aug. Had to do a warranty claim last week on the lid since the paint was bubbling in 3 places. I ordered from Surdyke since they had the best prices but took a month to get them from HD.

Ordered a set of vivid black lids, quality and paint match was spot on.
Very happy as they're considerably cheaper than buying from HD and I can't spot the difference!

They do plain lids as well as lids with speaker cut outs but for some reason they don't advertise plain on the web site so I ordered via email.

 

I've got a right side lid with a small bit of damage that could be repaired if that might help ya. It would need to be painted, but its OEM.

I just checked Ebay, theres a right Vivid black for $100 (Ebay item 152816398688
) and a left for $80 (292350677469) > i found several others as well.

 

I think Hogworkz sells them too but not sure of the quality.
