I decided to start a new thread, because when I researched this, all the threads were at least a year old..
I have a 2016 Ultra Classic. The forward/backward feature on the left hand switch toggle, stopped working. Due to the Canbus system, I can't just replace the switch, I need to replace the entire left side switch pack. The switch pack is self-contained. I looked up the part number for the left switch pack, 71500128A, and the discount price is $178.00, from BoardTracker.
I searched this forum for info, and found that numerous people were upgrading their handlebar switch packs with lighted switch packs. I did some searching...
I found a kit, #71500248B, that contains both the left & right hand switch packs and they have lighted switches. On BoardTracker, this kit is only $206.00 for both switch packs!!!
So I can get two new switch packs, with lighted switches, for $28 more than just buying one OEM unlighted switch pack... !? Well that's a no brainer..
I installed the switch packs today. Because of the Canbus system, and that these switches are both self contained, there were just three small plugs to deal with.
It took me about 15 minutes to change out both switch packs, and I used a torque wrench to tighten the covers and the handles...!!
I turned a repair into a really nice upgrade/mod... and it was extremely easy..!!
I just wanted to pass the word that if you have a broken switch pack, or just would like lighted switches... don't hesitate..... it's reasonably priced and super easy to do...

I did the same on my '15 Limited and couldn't be happier with 'em.

For all you guys rushing to do this...a word of caution. Be VERY careful with the very thin and delicate data ribbon that connects the two pieces of the switch pack. I found out the hard way while changing my handlebars.
By the way, if anyone needs a non-lighted clutch side switch pack let me know. I have one I'd be willing to part with for a lot less than the dealer.

When I first saw these on Harley's website I thought...."That's stupid. Who would pay 200 bucks for switches that light up?!?!"
Then I rode my King at night.....
For some reason it was never an issue on my old Street Bob.
Wished I had read this before I swapped my bars. Would have done them then when I had everything apart! Figured it was difficult to do...

I was intimidated too, but it was a snap once I got started.
Good luck,

Switches on Surdyke
For anyone who's interested, the switches on Surdyke:
https://www.surdyke.com/PartsMain.as...mber=71500248B
I may have talked myself into this mod as well. The cost of these for both sides is about as much as replacing one OEM side at a time.
