Boombox 6.5 nav data storage limit
#11
Assuming you have used the correct procedure to import the route, I know of two possibilities where you could have problems, there may be more. The file must be in the primary directory, if it is in a sub directory fthe Boombox will not recognize it. Secondly, check the file name. If you have anything in the name beyond letters and numbers, you may have problems. There may be a few characters you can (not sure) but it will not accommodate an asterisk.

I’ve created Basecamp trips but they’ve never worked on the Boombox. Also, a friend who has a BMW created a route in Basecamp and that did not work either on my Boombox. Even though Harley says any .GPX file should work, they do put in a disclaimer that it might not. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the Basecamp .gpx file is MUCH larger than the file created by Ride Planner. I do not know if there is a size limitation on the file.

Route Clean-Up
I've been teaching the 6.5GT gps operation to a new 2018 SGS owner that is proficient in use of Garmin Basecamp. She had problems running some of her Basecamp GPX files; one was 1.2+ Gb in size. I used Route Converter, eliminated most of the fluff & distilled file size down to a 27 Kb GPX file containing 2 routes with all the waypoints included in the 2 routes. Her Basecamp GPX files caused the H-D 6.5GT to stall. My distilled version ran just fine.
