Boombox 6.5 nav data storage limit
Does anyone know if there is storage limit on the 6.5 Boombox for saving nav trips? I’m asking because I prefer to use Garmin’s Basecamp but the GPX file it creates is enormous compared to HD’s Ride Planner.
All trips created in the Ride Planner have been 2-3KB; the exact same route in Basecamp is 385KB!
If there is a storage limit then my concern is that I would not be able to save as many trips to the Boombox if I use Basecamp.

I don't have an answer for you about the storage size but I do know that I can fit a lot more trips in using Ride Planner than I can using BaseCamp. I thought I preferred BaseCamp also but I found that after I got through Ride Planner's learning curve it actually does a good job. I also find that I have fewer NAV errors using Ride Planner.

I've been teaching the 6.5GT gps operation to a new 2018 SGS owner that is proficient in use of Garmin Basecamp. She had problems running some of her Basecamp GPX files; one was 1.2+ Gb in size. I used Route Converter, eliminated most of the fluff & distilled file size down to a 27 Kb GPX file containing 2 routes with all the waypoints included in the 2 routes. Her Basecamp GPX files caused the H-D 6.5GT to stall. My distilled version ran just fine.

Hammer, I see your point about “up to” 17 routes. And your second post reminded me that right after I got the 6.5 Boombox I tried using Basecamp and I actually had problems installing and starting those trips.
Yesterday Ride Planner was able to find all the addresses I put in, whereas Basecamp did not.
I think I’ll just stick with Ride Planner.
Thanks, everyone, for all the replies.
