Default Oil Pressure

At 2000 RPMs I am only getting 26 psi of oil pressure......Should I be worried....book says should be 30-36 PSI

I get 30 at freeway speeds.35 at cold start up and around 14-15at hot idle.
I don’t think 26 is far off but I don’t know how accurate the gauges are.

What is your bike model and year? What kind of oil are you using? Any modes to the engine? How many miles? Is it a Harley?

I glance at my oil pressure at startup, particularly after oil changes. It will go to 40 ish Psi. After that its quite tepmerature dependent and can drop below 12 psi at idle when the engine is hot. As some have suggested, empirical values alone don't mean much. If you establish what "normal" ranges are for your ride and conditions then you needn't be concerned unless reading levels go off the farm at some point.

Fred 20/50, is that syn oil, naturally the wt. of the oil, hot/cold, amount are all factors. 26 psi, oil level correct, i wouldn't be concerned.

New bikes don't show psi anymore, just OK, prob HD is tired of answering questions.
