Default DIY Oberon Clutch Lever Installation 2017 RGU

I wasn't happy with the location of the friction zone and clutch travel on my 2017 RGU. I saw an almost new Oberon Clutch Lever on the forum shipped for $100. I decided to try it as I figured if I didn't like I could get recover my investment. All that's needed for the install of the Oberon Clutch is a pair of lock ring pliers and about 2 minutes of your time. I removed the lock ring and pin, lubed the clutch lever pin and the clutch lever pin hole on the Oberon Clutch lever. I installed the Oberon Clutch lever, installed the pin and attached the lock ring. Started the bike and tried the different settings. To me setting number 3 made the lever feel just like my 2013 Ultra Limited. The friction zone and travel are what I was looking for. If you aren't happy with the new hydraulic clutch levers the Oberon adjustable clutch lever maybe right for you.

Default oberon lever

I am glad you are happy with the lever. Do not get rid of the old lever, it can be bent to work almost as good. You are great to do business with.

Hi Paid4c4

I have a 2017 FLHTK and I recently bought the same Oberon Lever. I haven't mounted it yet because its still winter here in Canada.
I just wanted to ask you.... Can you still start your RGU in gear with the lever setting on 3?
Many thanks
Rick

On 3 mine starts just fine in gear. 2 worked but I would have to really pull hard on it. 3 put the engagement point is a good spot for me.

I can. My bike, a 17 Ultra Limited can be started in 3 but not in 2.

I can start mine in gear on 3 and above. 2 and below it won't start. However 3 and above feels great so I'm good. Good luck with your lever and install.

Put it on my lady's 17 RGS. She loves it!
On 1 it won't start in gear, 2 is fine.

Spring is arriving later than it ever has in southern Canada but I finally got to ride my bike today with its new Oberon lever - and what an improvement!

If you have a '17 or '18 Harley and don't like the hydraulic clutch engagement point, you have to get this lever.
