Compensator problems solved for 2014--newer touring models ?
Fellas, looking for info on the Rushmore models 2014 & newer. Did the MoCo resolve all the problems with the compensator .? and the oiling tray kit addition? Lookin at possibly buying a new bike before spring, and wanted to ask if in 2016 the MoCo finally got it right ? Coming from a 2008 Street Glide w/107 ; I guess I would be in for a world of improvement on these new Rushmore bikes ?

I had mine replaced on my 14 at 24,000 miles the fix then was add a shim , Later 14 models got a change and I took it back and they replaced it and still had the shut off knock noise. My 15 I;m pretty sure was going bad at 17,000 miles but I sold it. 16 CVO never made any strange sounds or noise. Pretty sure my 14 was a Friday bike but I still loved it.

If you're interested, the Baker compensator kit is a permanent fix. I'll be going that route if (when) the OEM comp in my '15 Limited goes south.
I installed their "Attitude Adjuster" in my bike the day I bought it with 62 total miles on the clock and couldn't be happier with the Made in USA-quality and the instant improvements in smoother, quieter shifting, no more clank-bang when going from neutral to first, finding neutral when stopped etc.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the replies. So far from what I've been reading the Rushmore bikes were/are a tremendous improvement from several years ago(Touring). My current bike an 08 Street Glide was the last year before the new frame in 2009, wider tire. To be honest with you, I'm not so sure of what has been improved over the years. I'd love to go for a new M8 Ultra Limited but pricing up here in Canada is very steep. Even came across a couple of left over 2017 models and there not willing to deal on these. The bike that I'm considering is a 2016 Ultra Ltd. Just shy of 11,000 miles on it. Previous owner dropped $5,000 on it in accessories before it even left the dealership. Detachable tourpack, Vance and Hines Dresser dual head pipe w/4.5 H.O. mufflers, Screaming Eagle intake stage 1, blacked out front end, CB relocation kit, antanae, relocation kit, and What is a Digital Tech Download ? This was all done at the selling H.D. dealer. It does'nt have a S.E. Tuner or P.V. on it. Sorry to get side tracked with original thread, but I was just wondering if there were any issues to be concerned about with the 2016 Rushmore bikes.
Thanks to all....

The download that you were asking about is the stage 1 download that harley used to do when pioes and the air cleaner were installed. Thus no tuner included with the bike.
There are a ton of little things they changed with the rushmores that ended up refining the bikes quite a bit. The big changes where the frame as you mentioned. They are really nice bikes. You will love it.
