[QUOTE=ROCKOUT Rocker Products;17163510]Mine failed due to stalling from congealed coolant, seen a couple of other postings of the same.

How many miles on the bike and had you previously added coolant or changed the coolant? If so did you use the official Harley coolant?

It failed at about 20k.

Added coolant once due to doing a 107 job & removing coolant lines.... HD coolant. Later had a shop do a 110 job, coolant unknown.

It has been said that HD coolant is just Peak coolant in a HD jug.... who knows.

Never changed it... probably should have. Will in the future

I use the same stuff i use in my Cadillac. If its good enough for my north star V8 its good enough for a v twin exhaust port.

"Peak Global Lifetime 50/50" premix Antifreeze in the gold container is "supposed" to be the same formula ad the HD mix. the only difference is that it is a little bit more toward the yellow end of the scale instead of HD orange. If you cant find it in an auto parts store, it can strangely be found at most Walgreens stores

That is what I use, looks like **** if you ask me. Put it in an plastic bottle to fill the reservoir. One gallon is a lifetime supply. I got it on sale at Walgreens pharmacy of all places, for under $10 bucks.

I bought a gallon of the HD antifreeze. At the rate I'm using it it will probably last my time owning the bike.

H-D coolant is available in smaller containers now. You don't have to buy a gallon any more.

Good thread, THANKS

A question for those in the know. It seems so far that most pump failures are 2014 and 15 models. Has there been any updates or improvements in the pumps currently used?

I just got home from Bike Week. I was there with three other Riders.
My 2014 Limited, 2015 CVO Street Glide, 2012 Ultra, 2012 BMW K1600 GTL.

On Wednesday of last Week the 2015 CVO 110 Street Glide Coolant Lite, and Check Engine Lights came on with 9k miles on bike. I told him his Water Pump took a crap. First HD Dealer Diagnosed it and said water pump was bad, and filler neck cracked. They told us that they were out of Water Pumps, can't keep them in stock, but called Treasure Cove and they had a few in stock, so we rode there. We arrived at Treasure Cove HD and they got us in and out in about 2 hours, and replaced the Water Pump and Reservoir. My buddy had ESP and it cost him $50.00 deductible, and they told us it was over a $600.00 repair.

The very NEXT DAY when we arrived at Daytona Beach, my Check Engine and Coolant Lights came on my 2014 Ultra Limited 103 with 29k miles. I called New Smyrna Harley Davidson, and they said they had 3 Water Pumps in stock, and I blew down 95 to New Smyrna with the cruise on 80, and still getting passed up. They got me in and out in 2 hours as well, and I also had ESP and it cost me $50.00 deductible, and was told it was a $600.00 repair. Service Writer said they have replaced around 12 water pumps in the last week, and they have trouble keeping them in stock. I was also told by the Service Manager at New Smyrna that the current HD Part Number for water pumps will be obsolete in a few months, so I'm guessing they put in the same piece of crap they took out, and that there will be a revision soon.

Moral of the story:
Thank you Treasure Cove HD for getting my buddy back on the road quickly.
Thank you New Smyrna HD for getting me back on the road quickly as well.
