Default Lowering Questions

Hey guys I have a question about lowering a 15 street glide.

My wifes bike was lowered using the burly slammer kit which uses 10 1/2 " shocks. The bike rides like chit damn near bucking her off when hitting larger bumps.

Was wondering if I put the stock shocks back on and used lowering blocks to mount them if the added travel would cause the rear tire to hit the fender when hitting those larger bumps.

I'm hoping using the stock shocks will smooth the ride but don't want to jeopardize safety.

Thanks!

I think you're running either or situation there. Yeah, the normal travel of the stock length shocks may cause an occasional scrapping of the tire in the fender. You'll know that when you loose the rear tail light functions.

JNRDESIGN air ride is the way to go IMHO. slam it down for backing up and airing it up for riding.

I go along with jd05flhtci. I have a 14 SGS and a short inseam (30) JNR Design is the way to go, and you can do it all yourself for under $500. I pull in front of my garage, drop it to the ground, and back her up with knees bent. (Great adjustable ride too.) 2up or solo.

Well I put the Ohlins on the bike Saturday and took it for a ride.

I cannot believe the difference in ride quality, rides like a dream.

Thanks Howard now I will have to get a set for my bike LOL.

Oh and the shocks only raised her up about a 1/2" Which is manageable.
