pro action vs super shox vs ?

so far it’s been a toss up on the two aftermarket shocks in comfort (Ohlins versus Pro Action) both are very, very good shocks with the edge to Pro Action on our “heavy” weight package (460lbs plus tourpak and misc stuff)
A few things...
1. The improvement on my 14 was substantial. But it was a Street Glide 70% solo, 30% two up
2. I’m not sure the money is worth it for most people on upgrading a 17 and up, the changes front and rear is that much better on stock bikes from the 14/15’s
3. It’ll be next month (July) before I buy the super shox..so look for a update in August
4. While adjusting the Pro Actions is much easier then the Ohlins, I found out today in the heat and being tired (98 degrees) a pin tool would of been nice to have to adjust the PA. Sweaty palms and being grumpy made it hard to get another turn EITHER way with bare hands. maybe the Super Shox will be truly “tool-less adjustments”

Rear shocks are a 30 minute install with a jack. If money isn’t tight...upgrade.

Not yet, I have been playing with Legends in the front and have the 14” Pro Actions on the rear right now. The Legends were installed set at “2” per instructions, which was VERY firm, we put 3000 miles on that set up and pulled the cartridges and set them to “0” as they never softened up. Now they are very plush and handling is greatly improved. I’ll pull them and set to a “1” at some point, but I’m VERY happy with the front now.
The 14” Pro Actions, from DK Customs, are getting their trial period now. Since I ride mainly two up, this seemed to be a logical choice for us before the Super Shox. So far I’m very happy with these, and believe it’ll be hard to improve from here for two up riding. They are a touch firm when riding solo, where the 13” Pro Actions were not (the 13” PA’s don’t really require adjusting to ride solo versus two up, the 14” do.. but I’m down to 260 now. The Ohlins 136’s really needed adjusting when riding solo)
The Super Shox are next, and perhaps even back to an Ohlins with a remote reservoir. A seperated shock should provide benefits with our weight package over an emulsion on our 10/12 hour days.
