The pride gets hurt more than anything I think. For future reference, are these crash bars chrome or polished stainless?

Thanks for the input everyone!!!

Yuppers, WELCOME to the club.

I am figuring, only serious riders eventually drop 'er.

I did my latest drop in May, in Port Jervis, NY, on the way to Washington, DC. Tons of traffic on a little street and all three of my riding buddies as witnesses. I took a bow and then lifted the dreadnought with strength borne of embarrassment. It happens.
I too, don't think that will polish out, but what the hay, give it a go. You've got nothing to lose.

I did a little over three weeks ago. Bike had small scratches on the bars, I broke two ribs. Did not even know I broke them until I got home from a 100 mile ride.

About a year ago, I was practicing in a parking lot so I snapped the Pro-Guard's on the front and back guards. A few days later was on a ride and came up to an inclined 3-way stop that had loose gravel. Sure enough, when I came to a stop and put my foot down, I lost traction on the gravel and laid the bike down gently on the right side. Needless to say, the rush of adrenaline trying to lay it down slowly (while still believing I might be able to recover and keep it up), the embarrassment, as well as concern of damage all hit at once.

Was not even thinking about the pro-guard's but was glad to see them as I forgot to take them off a few days earlier. No damage to the bike, the front and back plastic pro-guard has some nicks in the smooth finish from the gravel or asphalt. Needless to say, I have not removed them since. Here are a couple of pictures.

doesn't seem to touch it. I figured there must be a trick to this, anyone?
Similar thing happend to me, I have the saddlebag guards also. You have a souvenir.

Happens to all of us. Remember many years ago when I took my girlfriend (now wife) out on her first ride with me along PCH in Southern California and after stopping for coffee and getting back on the bike I didn't think about how the road was angled and down we went. I hadn't done much 2up riding before that and didn't think about how center of gravity changes with a passenger on the back. Fortunately no damage to the bike or us but definitely embarrassing.
