I'm happy with the sound level and tone of V&H monster rounds. I have a "14" limited with the cat removed from stock head pipe. Neiborhood friendly but have a low deep rumble that can be heard. Also worth mentioning they do get a little louder with some miles on them but are still at a perfect balance of sound level and tone.

My friend has monster ovals and I do like the sound. If I didn't prefer slash ups, I would have gotten them.

I did fuelmoto 2-1-2 head pipe and crusher mufflers.
Not loud, but sounds really good with a deep rumble to them
I got everything from Fuel moto. They had the best price on the mufflers

I went from stock, to Street Cannons, CFR's, Fuel Moto 2-1-2 with with High Rollers, to a Rush Wrath 2-1. They all sound great, the Rush is the loudest, but acceptable sound DB at cruise. I would just do a full Stage 1, intake, head pipe, and muffler. Then get a FP3 pr PV2 to tune it, and call it a day.

Fuel Moto head pipe, 4” Rhineharts, air cleaner & a FP3 will fit your needs perfectly. You will really like the performance and sound. My ‘14 FLHTK sounds & performs awesome with this setup.

Mufflers and the sound they make are a subjective thing, what sounds good to me might not good to you or your wife.
Go to one of the biker hangouts, or go to a local Harley dealership, listen to the Bikes coming & going until you hear
one you like. Ask the rider about his mufflers, and what he has done to his Bike. Riders love to talk about their Bikes,
and most are willing to tell you what they have done to it. JMO

P.S.-Welcome to our forum, there is lots of good info here.

I also have the 14 FLHTK and went with RCX 4" because I liked the sound and the fact that I could choose from many end caps. Great suggestions above about hearing the pipes on similar bikes in person. Youtube sound isn't accurate. Also your bike will sound different when you ride it vs hearing it coming or going with someone else riding.

I installed Vance & Hines Dresser Duals and Slash Ovals. Sounds more classic going down the road, loud but not so loud you can't hear your stereo.

Just picked up a '14 FLHTK with SE slip-ons, nice sound, not oppressively loud. Diameter is 4", "Screamin' Eagle" is attached in black script letters on the side, slash-down looks like tips.

i bought a set from another member here then sent them to american custom and had the work their magic. i ordered th “bomber” baffle and let me tell you the bike sounds like a harley now! you can send your stock pipes to them and they will mod them for you if you want to go that route. or just buy a ready made set and either send your stock mufflers to them or keep them. best $200 ive spent so far. tomorrow i will put the high flow air filter in and swap out my header and plug in my fp3 tuner. iv got a 14 ultra classic, same bike just not wetheads.
