Water Pump Failure and Repair / 2016 RGU (Lots of Pics)

The two that I have tested (Tom's and mine) would spin with just 12v applied at room (basement shop) temperature.

I applied 12 almost 13 volts from a big battery and I got no spin. Will it spin when cold or does all that electronics have a thermal reason for existence.
Here is the one I purchased.
I recommend you don't buy from him. He refuses to work with me, says he has 20 more of these and they all work.

I "WAS" gonna buy a '14 or '15 Ultra Limited. Now I want out. This Air-Water cooling is on 3 model years and now switching to the '17 different motor. I am now thinking on getting a pre '14. I have a guy that wants to sell me a '15 with 8800 miles and 4 yrs. on a Transferable Warranty for $16k. Now I'm having serious doubts. To make an engine design then change it in a couple of years spells trouble down the line. Maybe that '12 CVO will do .

Harley is probably waiting for the revised pump to get here from China 😜

File a claim with Ebay, He quotes "good working pump" in his listing, they will make him issue you a refund.

I suspect these are used pumps changed under warranty for noise and some HD Tech is selling the stuff out of the garbage can at work

I am not to sure where to go with this newer bike that I wanna buy. Is it true that the Air-Water Mt. Rushmores are only a 3 yr. stint and the line done, replaced by the M-8 ? I sure as hell don't wanna get stuck with a engine 5yrs. down the road that isn't worth a fiddler's f**k !

Hell Yea, that bike is still practically new, these forums makes you think almost everyone is having trouble with their water pump. Well, they're not!

It's still a twin cam, which has been around since 1998. The Project Rushmore bikes were improvements made to the touring models based on real-world rider feedback. All this doom-and-gloom you're reading about the water-cooled Rushmore bikes is nothing but the squeaky wheel getting the grease complaints you read on Internet forums. A vast majority of these bikes are as dependable and reliable as any other Harley motorcycle.
There are a few thousand of these "Twin Cooled" bikes running around up here this week, and will be many more thousands next week.
I haven't seen any of them broke down on the road yet.
<knock on wood> Just over 25,000 miles on my '15 Limited and no cooing issues. Of course it could go out tomorrow. But I am betting it won't.
