Default Kick Stand and bike roll

So call me crazy but I would almost swear my bike seems to roll a lot more than it ever used to when I put it down on the side stand.

Anyone else find this? Is there any kind of adjustment on it or a way to limit that movement at all?

Is this a normal wear thing???

I've looked at it and I don't really see much besides tightening the bolt that goes down through the locking plate on top.

That's all there is. Just make sure the nut is secure.

I would just check your mounting bolts, and the spring. I damaged my spring on a bump.
I dropped my bike last month, because I moved it by hand in the garage, and didn't notice that the Jiffy stand hit the ground and was pushed passed the lock. When I let go of the bike, it dropped. So now I'm back to being paranoid, and kicking the stand forward before I get off.

It's likely your imagination. If you look at the two pieces involved for locking the jiffy stand, they are a very hard beefy metal. I'm sure a jiffy stand has failed somewhere, but I have never heard of one failing. It's a really good design.

get down on the ground and look up at how the jiffy stand and mechanism works in the slot and I think you'll be convinced that it's mostly imaginary that the bike is going to roll forward off the stand

Oh I've looked at it hard probably on every one of these bikes I've owned. Lol

My brain tells me it's impossible but damn the thing moves a lot! Lol

Thanks again to all for the responses.

It's not just you, it's all of us. I look at the stand and it's in the eight o'clock position and I'm thinking it's gonna go over but in 12 years of ownership (2 tourers) it's never happened. As mentioned above just make sure the bolt is torqued, it's a maintenance item.

Kick it in gear before you put the jiffy stand down. That will keep it from rolling if your uncomfortable with trusting the jiffy stand.

A customer brought in a jiffy stand in to my welding shop and the nut on top broke off. It looks like the nut is "furnace brazed" to the top of the Jiffy stand. He told me a car bumped into the back of his bike in the parking lot. So they can break, under excessive stress.

I have the performance machine +1 kickstand.and get absolutely no movement forward or backward. It's also puts the bike at a slightly upward angle that makes it easier to lift off stand.
