Stage II: Torque Cam vs power cam
I have a 2014 ultra classic (103) with a stage I upgrade ( I am using Rinehart head pipes and slip-ons) and am considering a stage II upgrade. Can you give me the details on the real difference between a torque cam and a power cam for the stage II? Also, what else do I have to consider for the upgrade?

A "torque cam", like the Woods TW-222, will give you roll-on torque, making it more responsive while you're toodling down the highway in sixth gear. Torque is GOOD for touring, especially if you're 2-up.
A "power" cam, like perhaps the TW-777, won't come on early, but will result in your bike being "faster". If you're racing, you want horsepower. If you have to pass on your touring rig, you'll have to downshift to get into your "power" band.
"Stage II" will mandate the following:

"Stage II" will mandate the following:
- Lifters - some say the stockers will work, but as long as the cam chest is open, I'd upgrade.
- Pushrods - If your base circle is the same, you can use the stockers, but most opt for the adjustable pushrods for ease of installation. If you hire the work done, adjustables will likely save you money for the labor you'd spend pulling and replacing the stockers.
- Inner camshaft bearings - New cams will dictate that these be replaced with torrington bearings.
- Tuner - if you don't already have one, you'll need one now.
- Dyno tune - once the camshaft is replaced, you really need a custom tune. Fuel moto will provide you a baseline, but they will also recommend you get a custom tune to match.
- Cam plate / oil pump - As long as you're in there... A bigger oil pump is never a bad thing, and the newer cam plate uses larger bearing surfaces for the camshafts.
- Valve springs - depending on how much lift the new camshafts have, this may be recommended.

Also don't worry about your oil pump it should be fine, just replace the lifters with the S&S ones, I think there around $169 or so.

I will respectfully disagree. I did cams (see my sig), and I don't regret it one bit. 92 HP and 110 ft-lbs, and a grin ear to ear.

If it's the Limited it has 10.1 comp. but the Ultras have around 9.5 I think, they can use a little bit more but your right, you can get a PV Liscence and tune her up but the 48 will give alot of bottom end tq.
