Glad things worked out better than they could have; you are still here! Honestl, after a no fault accident a couple years ago due to a roadway hazard, if the frame is messed up pray that they total it. The turn around time for an HD frame is terrible and, especially on a CVO, all the wiring change over can go very wrong. It’s too bad you don’t have someone to go after on this one, because the dimisnished value of a CVO with a frame replacement would be bad.

Yeah glad your ok. Your on a 900 lb flying missle! Easily could have ended a lot worse. One year riding thru Houston there were hundreds of electrical outlet boxes on the interstate it was unbelievable! Bike is easily replaced! Good luck, and get back on it!

Good to hear your still alive. I hope you find out who the person was that didn’t surcure the load and let them pay for your medical and bike bills. I hope it all works out for you

Had a similar thing happen to me a few years ago except it was a 2x4 got kick up by the truck in front of me and I almost took the 2x4 in the head.

Glad you're here to tell us about it. Hopefully the insurance company treats you right and you heal quickly with minimal discomfort. A local guy recently rear ended a stalled car because the car he was following swerved to miss it at the last second. He didn't have time to react.

First, I'm happy to hear you made it through without any major injuries. You were damn lucky! Second, I flew over my handlebars and landed on my head earlier this year after hitting a car. I, too, survived without any significant injuries. One thing I remember distinctly was as I was in the air and during the "landing", I had my eyes closed the whole time. Do you remember if your eyes were open as you flew that 50 feet? I'm just curious if that's a normal reaction or not.

Glad your OK.... I had an rough meeting with a mudflap that was kicked up in front of me doing 70....Locked up my front tire and I went sliding down 99 for about 120ish feet...
I don't remember leaving the bike or flying though the air, but I do recall hitting the pavement and thinking this was it....

Thank God you wore the helmet that day! Also good to read your assessment of what could’ve been done better/differently, because there are usually things to be seen in hindsight. That also applies to those of us reading your post; my takeaway was to use a helmet more frequently. I’m prone to not wearing it when temps are above 80, and really should know better.

its been a couple of days now and anything that’s gonna hurt should be, so what’s the latest? How’re you holding up? At 64 I’m not sure I could even get up for the morning coffee!

I’m glad you are ok. I live about 40 miles east of Pecos and work out of Pecos. To say the least, it’s a zoo around here. Horrible traffic, oilfield trucks everywhere, and a lot of these guys just don’t give a ****. Earlier this week, some ******* intentionally ran a bike off of the road because he didn’t want the bike to pass him. It’s almost to the point to where I don’t want to ride because of all the ******** around here.
