Default Deby Cover Screw Change

I'm changing my Derby cover on my 2015 Limited and would like to change the scews to allen head. I've checked some hardware stores around here and I'm not able to find what I'm looking for in Grade 8. I'm wondering if stainless steel would be an okay replacement or is stainless too soft? I had the option for grade 8, but they were black screws. I don't want black.
Also, I don't have a service manual yet...is the torque value 95-108 in/lbs? Thank you!

Do you have a particular reason for using Grade 8 or am I missing something here? 100 inch lbs. is only a little over 8 foot lbs. Cheers!!

Grade 5 would be a tremendous overkill for that location, grade 8 is absolutely unnecessary.

Ok. Question answered. I’m not very knowledgeable about this stuff. The stock screws are Grade 8, so I figured the replacements should be as well. I’ll use the stainless ones that I got.

You're talking about #3 in this drawing, right? Still wondering how you determined they are Grade 8 though. Not questioning it, just don't know myself.. Cheers!!

# 4 as pictured. When I picked upthe derby cover yesterday, I asked the parts guy the specs to the screws. He told me 1/4"- 20 5/8" grade 8.

Grade 8 or 5 not necessary. Polished stainless are fine but use antiseize as stainless and aluminium will bond over time. No loctite. And torx are better then allen if you use the right size QUALITY bits. T27
