Question Handlebar Internal Wiring Necessary????

Just curious as I've read up a lot on internal wiring, is it necessary to run the wires through the handlebars if going taller, ie 10"???
Personally I don't mind the external wires it appears the factory does, I assume all go internal just for the cleaner look.
Just curious before I start ordering things I'll need. Thanks for the input..

Not necessary, it's a cleaner look that's all.

If not internal wouldn't you need to change the throttle by wire setup? Don't see how that could be externally run.

Don't be an ***, that wasn't what you were asking. That would be the only one run internally.
And you could run it outside the bars too, just pop it OUT AFTER the perch. But why would you?

Who's being an ***? The OP asked about external wiring, I asked how that could be done with the TBW unit as that is already internal. No one being an *** I can see....

Most aftermarket bars are made with the intention of running the wires inside the bar. If the bars do not have the little divit under the switch clamp you'll be drilling either the clamp or the bars to get the wires outside the bar.

Good news is, most of the newer bikes are on canbus which is only two wire instead of a handful. Pretty easy to run those through...

you will also have to use zip ties to tie the wires to the bars since if they're made for internal they won't have the little holes for the little cable holders unless you drill them.

Thanks for the replies, some good points made for internal, and since mines canbus I suppose it'd be best to run internal.
Thanks all!
