good point. Theres got to be some additional wear and tear in the long run, but........how often is the bike really going to be operating on one cylinder under a no-load condition??.....

I choose not to use it. It's just too infrequent for me to really worry about it.....

Disabled mine, hated the sound at idle, the heat hasn't been an issue for me.

with a few more cylinders to keep the motor running. Were talking a 2 cyl motor dopping down to 1 then maintaining 1k rpm. With everyone talking, arguing and worried about lugging a motor...one should realize this is lugging the motor.

Turn it off, tune the motor properly and forget about it. Was running a 103'' Wide Glide for years before all this EITMS, my puss is hot came around. That motor never ran hot.

My RAM 5.7 V8 HEMI drops 4 cylinders.

On the highway.

Yes, there are still 4 cylinders firing, but it's still only 50%.

I think under no load 1 cylinder is fine. But we have the option to not utilize it, if we choose.

Good points and arguments by all concerned. I see both views and only have this system on the 14 SGS. I can see the point of disabling it and not really use it at all for most riding. Since the system still can be activated by a twist of the throttle, then the auto feature is of little value. Looks like I may end of disabling it after thinking more about it.

They rank right up there as = issues.

-built and tuned 103'' 2001 WG in Mainstreet traffic, never burnt my leg
-96'' tuned 2007 FLHX same road and traffic never burnt my leg
-103'' untuned RK same road and traffic 3rd degree nut sack burns with EITMS on
- same RK pipes, intake and dealer DL, same sachel heat, in Mnts and blown motor with EITMS on

I just ordered a Pwer Vision...I will fix this issue. And EITMS will be off

I have literally gotten off the RK cause it was 2 freaking hot, never needed to get off my other rides at any time.

And the guys with the trucks dropping cylinders and what have ya...thats for fuel economy not heat.

Don't think for 1 minute Harley is not playing a smoke and mirror game about engine tune/heat management issues.
