`Won`t be an issue with me. I`m going to install Ward`s head cooling fans on my ride before the hot weather gets here.

I do not disagree with you at all.

My statement was pointed at the fact that my truck drops half of it's cylinders while under load, on the highway, and the bike does it at idle ONLY. And then only when AAT is over 80°, and engine temp is at whatever point they prescribed.

You roll the throttle forward and hold. The light on speedo will light green if active or orange if not.

I haven't tried this yet on my 14 SGS, but this is a procedure that was noted when this Engine Temperature Idle Management System was applied back in 2008. I do not believe this procedure has been altered since then.

Vehicles delivered from the factory with ETIMS disabled, the ETIMS can be enabled or disabled by the rider by using the following procedure.

My SGS was disable from the factory when delivered to the dealer. My dealer enabled it before I picked it up per my sales person.

1. TURN THE IGNTION SWITCH TO THE ON POSITION (DO NOT START THE MOTORCYCLE).

2. PUSH THE THROTTLE TO ROLL-OFF POSITION AND HOLD.

3. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 3 SECONDS, THE CRUISE CONTROL INICATOR LAMP WILL EITHER FLASH GREEN (ETIMS ENABLED) (OR RED ETIMS DISABLED).

4. REPEAT THE PROCEDURE AS NEEDED TO ENABLE OR DISABLE ETIMS.

Just got a 2017 RGU, the info screen says the EITMS is disabled and I cannot get it to turn on following the owners manual. Am I missing a step or are the twin cooled bikes not needing the EITMS?

Old thread brought back from the dead, but I turned mine off. Yesterday it was 100 degrees and twice when taking off it got kinda interesting, almost had to practice lifting technique. I would rather deal with a little more heat than having to pick my bike up in 100 degrees.
