Question Red "P" Indicator lit on Tachometer?????

I have googled until I cant google anymore and every dealership in SoCal says the same thing: "Pursuit Lights" yet my manual never defined this indicator as pursuit, simply says "not applicable to this model." Well, if not applicable, then why on this tachometer? Anyway, this dang "P" has been lit since the 2nd week after my purchase and there are no codes popping and everything runs fine. Any clue on how to turn this thing off without having to wait the 2 weeks that SDHD requires to bring it in and have them tinker with it to figure it out?

The light is right where I have the arrow pointing? Apologies for not using my own bike, its up in Murrieta at a friends right now.

On police model bikes the "P" indicates the emergency lights are activated. I'm not sure about the 2014's, but the older bikes have a 3-position switch for Off/Rear/All emergency lights on the right hand controls and the "P" illuminates when the switch is on Rear or All. If yours is lit, something isn't right. What model bike do you have?

I would suggest that you pull the main 40A fuse for several minutes. It may clear the problem.

That is the international symbol for "parking brake"...trike models, unless you have a trike it should not light up. Seems like a short in the gauge or cluster harness...or a BCM issue. Google : parking brake indicator .

2014 Touring ParkLight Ground Installation

It has been found that on some 2014 Harley Davidson Touringmodels that the Parking Brake Warning light is illuminated on the Speedometer.

This is caused by disconnecting and reconnecting the ECM andis due to a voltage inconsistency during the process.

To remedy the issue, a ground wire must be installed intothe Instrument Module plug which is easily accessed without the removal of thefairing by following the process below.

1. Turn handlebars to the right.

2. Looking from beneath the fairing, locate thegray Instrument Module plug and disconnect.
See Pic #2

3. From the back of the plug, insert the pinned endof the ground wire into the #7 pin socket of the plug.

4. Next, insert the ground wire into the threadedhole in the frame as shown below.
See Pic #4

NOTE: To ensure conductivity, install a ‘StarWasher’ between the ring connector and frame.
