Relocating oil filter
I'm thinking of relocating the oil filter. Would make oil changes a lot easier and less oil on the bike. Only drawback I see is more old oil in the lines for the relocation that would stay when the oil was changed.

Understand, but I'd put this off until "post" warranty expiration b/c your dealer will probably place blame on any little motor hiccup to your filter relocation mod. No joking aside, just know how they think...

Iceman you r probably right.
I did my 5000 mile service yesterday and even though I was going to wash the bike after, cleaning the oil that spills from the oil filter is a pain in the ***,

Slide a disposable foil turkey roasting pan under the front of the motor, Douch'e the lower front case area with a spray can of "Electrical Contact Cleaner" follow-up with a damp rag. It adds 2 mins. to the oil change. Much less invasive than relocating the filter.

Not a hassle moving the filter, did it on my Crossbones. I mounted it vertically and I could fill it with oil before installing.
