5K normally, but HD website under SYN3 says You can change at 10K or at time of winter storage.I am going to try it ,while watching how dirty oil gets.It it really gets black I will change earlier.3800 miles now and oil looks like it was changed yesterday!
watch the oil pressure, never mind what # but where it is on the dial during hot idle and cruise. Take note what mileage you start to notice the pressure lower than where it has been. losing viscosity. Time to change. Interestingly this occurs soon after the recommended 5k for me at least

VERY interesting Canuck....I never thought to keep note of this number duing idle and while riding. I will now be mindful of this.
I guess I'm old school, and wasting money. Change oil and filter every 2,500 miles. Using syn3 right now, going to switch to Mobil One V Twin at 5,000 miles. There is no downside other than cost.
Going to 5k mile intervals will save you money. The Amsoil may cost a 2-3 bucks more a quart, but you'll also be changing it almost half as often. It is hard to change the train of thought that you don't need to change your oil every 3k. Heck, my car recommends between 7,500-10k.

Been doing every 2500 miles ever since I owned Harley's. (15 years)
